Fees
My fees for legal services are usually contractual, i. e. they are agreed between you and me. The agreed rate takes into account the value of your case, its complexity, as well as the required expertise and the language in which the legal services are to be provided.
We may agree on the fees as time-based or service-based, as a flat fee or as a success fee, or as their combination.
The first preliminary consultation up to 15 minutes is free.
I am not a VAT (value-added tax) payer.
Time-Based Fees
In the case of time-based fees, we may agree on a certain rate for each hour of legal services.
Service-Based Fees
In the case of service-based fees, we may agree on a certain rate for each act of legal services (one act of legal services can be, for example, taking over and preparing a case, a pre-suit summons, a lawsuit, an appeal), or a certain fee for the complete handling of a certain matter.
Flat Fee
In the case of regular provision of legal services, we may also agree on a flat fee, usually for one month, the amount of which is final regardless of the actual scope of legal services provided in a given month.
Success Fee
If we do not agree on fees for legal services, the fees will be determined according to the Decree of the Ministry of Justice No. 177/1996 Coll., on attorneys-at-law fees and attorneys-at-law compensation for the provision of legal services (attorneys-at-law tariff).
The full text of the attorneys-at-law tariff is available online in the e-Collection (e-Sbírka).
If a dispute regarding the provision of legal services arises between an attorney-at-law and a client who is a consumer (i. e. a natural person and at the same time does not act as part of his business activity or as part of the independent exercise of his profession), and this dispute cannot be resolved by agreement, the client-consumer has, on the basis of Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on consumer protection, the right to submit a proposal for an out-of-court settlement of such a dispute to the designated entity for out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes, which is the Czech Bar Association (Česká advokátní komora).
Detailed information can be found on the website of the Czech Bar Association (Česká advokátní komora).
